Job Description
Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group (PFG), is a leading broadline distributor that plays an integral role in America's food supply chain. This company thrives by maintaining strong and unique relationships with a diverse range of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. Thanks to a dedicated team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other foodservice experts, Performance Foodservice offers more than just food delivery; it provides valuable advice and collaborative support on operational efficiency, menu development, product selection, and overall operational strategy. This comprehensive approach enables local businesses and foodservice operators to achieve their goals and grow in a competitive marketplace.
Performance Foodservice is currently looking for a dedicated CDL-A Delivery Driver to join their dynamic team. This role is essential in the food distribution system, responsible for the timely and safe transportation of food and related products to customers across intrastate and interstate routes. The position offers competitive compensation, ranging from $77,000 to $88,000 annually, with potential earnings up to $90,000 per year. Drivers enjoy a four-day workweek with early morning shift dispatch times between 3:00 AM and 5:30 AM, creating a manageable work schedule. In addition to competitive pay, employees benefit from a comprehensive package that includes Day 1 Health and Wellness Benefits, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, robust 401(k) employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and numerous growth opportunities.
As a CDL-A Delivery Driver at Performance Foodservice, individuals will be the company’s frontline representatives, delivering exceptional service and fostering strong customer relationships. Drivers must ensure that each delivery is made within the promised timeframe and that all products arrive in excellent condition, adhering to strict Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies. The role involves operating tractors and straight trucks across various delivery settings, including local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight assignments. Drivers are expected to conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, verify that freight is properly loaded and secured, and maintain accurate records and paperwork associated with each shipment. Customer service is paramount in this role, with expectations to communicate professionally and respond to inquiries efficiently. In addition to driving, delivery drivers are responsible for unloading products, performing damage control checks, collecting payments when required, and managing returns. The company emphasizes safety and operational excellence, expecting drivers to adhere to all governing policies and contribute to a clean and organized work environment. Performance Foodservice supports a positive and inclusive workplace culture where rewards, recognition, and mutual respect are foundational values. Candidates joining this team will find ample room for career advancement while performing a job vital to supporting America’s food service infrastructure. This position is a perfect match for individuals who value reliability, customer engagement, and delivering results that exceed expectations.
