Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Six or more months of commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A driver’s license
- Be at least 21 years old
- Meet all applicable state licensing and certification requirements
- Maintain a clean motor vehicle report for the last three years
- Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass the required road skills test
- Have or obtain a valid DOT Health Card
- Physical capability to lift and handle freight weighing between 10 and 90 pounds using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be 21 years or older
- Meets all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Passes post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Passes road test
- Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure one
- Able to hand-lift and use equipment such as two-wheeler and lift gate to move freight
Job Duties
- Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner
- Functions as a team member within the department and organization as required
- Performs all required safety checks including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations
- Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of loaded products
- Checks and completes all required paperwork associated with freight accurately
- Moves tractor to loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed
- Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route schedule
- Unloads products and transports items into designated customer storage areas
- Performs damage control checks, scans, and contacts supervisor about order removals
- Verifies delivery with customer and obtains proper signatures
- Collects payments where required and secures trailer doors
- Ensures tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Unloads damaged goods and returns and completes necessary paperwork
- Performs general housekeeping duties and keeps trailers clean
- Completes daily record of hours of service and logs according to Federal DOT and company requirements
- Secures all equipment and completes paperwork at end of shift
- Performs other related duties as assigned
