Job Description

The company prides itself on not just delivering high-quality food products but also on offering expert advice and support through a dedicated team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and operational experts. Performance Foodservice fosters growth by helping independent restaurant owners and foodservice operators realize their ambitions and achieve lasting success within their communities. The company maintains a culture of safety, inclusion, rewards, recognition, and respect, providing a welcoming and engaging work environment for all its employees.

The CDL-A Driver role at Performance Foodservice is a critical position focused on the safe and timely delivery of food and food-related products to customers across intrastate and interstate routes. With a competitive salary range from $77,000 to $88,000 and potential earnings up to $90,000 annually, this role features a 4-day workweek with shift dispatch times between 3:00 am and 5:30 am. The position involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks to perform over-the-road (OTR), local, shuttle, and drive and drop deliveries. The position also requires the driver to complete daily records of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT and company policies. Beyond transportation, the job demands attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, professionalism when interacting with clients, and teamwork within the larger organizational structure.

This role requires a high level of responsibility, technical knowledge of vehicle and freight safety, and the physical ability to handle and transport freight weighing between 10 and 90 pounds using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates. The company offers an excellent benefits package including health and wellness coverage starting from day one, 401K employer matching, an employee stock purchase plan, education assistance, paid time off, and many other employee-focused perks. Performance Foodservice emphasizes equal employment opportunity and fosters a workplace free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and other protected characteristics. This supportive environment promotes professional development and career advancement for dedicated CDL-A drivers who contribute to maintaining America’s vital food distribution infrastructure.
