With a firm commitment to excellence and customer-centric service, Performance Foodservice has established itself as a trusted partner in the food distribution ecosystem.

The company offers a respectful, inclusive, and safe working environment stressing rewards, recognition, and mutual respect. Employees benefit from day-one health and wellness coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off, among many other benefits. Growth opportunities abound for individuals who want to perform essential work supporting America's food distribution system, which is critical in maintaining food availability nationwide.

In this role, the CDL-A Driver position is fundamental to the company’s mission. Delivery drivers are the face of Performance Foodservice to its customers and play a vital role in the nation’s food supply chain. They ensure that food and food-related products are delivered safely and on time, adhering strictly to Department of Transportation regulations. The scheduling involves Monday through Friday shifts with early morning dispatches between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM, handling 12-13 hour routes. Drivers operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, which include local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight drive-and-drop assignments.

The role demands excellent communication and customer service skills to foster positive, lasting relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers. Drivers are responsible for performing safety checks on vehicles before and after trips, reporting any maintenance needs promptly, and following all safety and company protocols to ensure secure transport of goods. They handle loading and unloading tasks, verify deliveries and obtain customer signatures, manage paperwork accuracy, and may collect payments when required. The job also involves general housekeeping duties within the truck and loading dock areas to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Performance Foodservice is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion, ensuring a fair and respectful workplace for all employees regardless of background. This opportunity comes with a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 annually, based on the route and experience. If you have a valid CDL-A license, a clean driving record, and a strong work ethic, and you are ready to be part of a company that invests in its people and the community, this role offers a promising career path with meaningful impact.
