The Shuttle Service operates modern, clean, and well-maintained 24-passenger vehicles to ferry employees between parking facilities and the hospital campus, supporting their shift schedules and daily commutes.
We are actively seeking full-time Shuttle Drivers for evening shifts, specifically from 4:30 pm to 12:30 am, Monday through Friday. This role is vital in maintaining efficient and reliable transportation that enables hospital staff to perform their duties without transportation concerns. Shuttle Drivers at Upstate Medical University start at a competitive hourly wage of $25, with weekly pay provided. Full-time employees enjoy comprehensive benefits, including health and dental insurance after 90 days with a 50/50 cost split, and paid vacation after completing one year of service. Additional opportunities for career growth and advancement within the organization are also available.
In this role, Shuttle Drivers will operate newer shuttle vehicles designed to prioritize passenger comfort and safety. Drivers are responsible for adhering to traffic laws, communicating professionally with passengers and coworkers, and ensuring that the shuttle environment is clean and well-maintained. This includes conducting pre-trip inspections in compliance with federal and company safety standards and reporting any mechanical issues promptly to management. The position requires a high level of customer service skills, as drivers will frequently greet and assist hospital patrons and employees, opening and closing doors and responding to their inquiries in a friendly, respectful manner.
Candidates must hold a valid New York State Class B or higher CDL with a passenger endorsement and possess a current medical card. Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, background checks and driving tests are mandatory prior to employment. Applicants must be at least 20 years of age and demonstrate a professional attitude oriented towards providing excellent customer service during all interactions.
Joining the Shuttle Service team at Upstate Medical University means being part of a dedicated group that values reliability, professionalism, and fostering a safe transportation environment to support the hospital’s vital operations.
