Job Description

Buckhead Atlanta is a prominent distribution and logistics company serving multiple regions, including the Gulf Coast area. With a strong commitment to efficient logistics and customer satisfaction, Buckhead Atlanta operates through various yards, including its Gulf Coast yard, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. The company prides itself on fostering a professional and safe work environment while delivering quality service to its clients. By integrating advanced transportation management strategies and employing dedicated workforce members, Buckhead Atlanta stands as a reliable partner in the logistics and transportation industry. The company offers a dynamic work atmosphere where team members can grow and develop their skills in the rapidly evolving field of freight and distribution services.

This job posting is specifically for Class A and Class B drivers located in the Pensacola, Atmore, or Crestview areas, aiming to serve Buckhead Atlanta's Gulf Coast yard. The role offers an opportunity for drivers to manage daily routes with frequent stops, wherein they are responsible for loading and unloading products according to designated orders set by the Transportation Department Manager. The driver will operate under a cross-dock operational model, which entails picking up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries at assigned loading docks and returning empty trucks to the designated lot at the end of their routes. Occasionally, drivers may also assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and carrying out other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.

This position demands a high level of physical endurance, attention to safety protocols, and excellent communication skills to maintain customer relations and ensure delivery accuracy. Drivers are expected to run routes efficiently while meeting or exceeding designated route times. They must be capable of unloading products manually or with hand carts and place them in designated customer storage areas, sometimes requiring transportation of goods across ramps, stairs, or docks in varying weather conditions. The job requires frequent lifting, pushing, or moving of products weighing between 1 to 75 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds, and consistent bending or twisting while loading and unloading.

An essential aspect of this role includes verifying deliveries with customers, obtaining signatures, handling any discrepancies or complaints professionally, and adhering strictly to safety rules and Department of Transportation regulations by performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles. Buckhead Atlanta fosters a culture of accountability and team collaboration to maintain high standards of customer service and workplace safety. This employment opportunity is ideal for experienced commercial drivers looking to leverage their skills in a demanding yet rewarding environment where they can contribute to the seamless flow of logistics operations along the Gulf Coast.
