The role available is for a Route Delivery Driver within Sysco's transportation team. Job Requirements

  • CDL B license
  • 1-2 years of route delivery experience preferred
  • Professional, safety-first mindset
  • Ability to operate vehicle in various traffic and weather conditions
  • Minimum productivity and error goals adherence
  • Ability to lift frequently up to 50 lbs and infrequently up to 80 lbs
  • Ability to climb onto and off the truck
  • Capacity to work in confined spaces
  • Frequent bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and perform vehicle inspections

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • One-year route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License - Class B (Class A preferred)
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand highway signs, and complete reports
  • Strong customer relations and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to plan and organize work independently
  • Good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques
  • Proven ability to communicate articulately and perform simple arithmetic
  • Adaptability and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects
  • Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times
  • Unload product from trailer by hand or using hand cart and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Frequently lift, push, or move product weighing 1-75 pounds up to 100 pounds
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle any customer complaints professionally
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections according to DOT regulations
