Their extensive distribution network and commitment to excellence make Sysco a trusted partner for thousands of customers. As a company, Sysco values safety, integrity, and professionalism, fostering a workplace culture rooted in respect and growth opportunities for its employees.
The role being offered is a professional driving position focused on daily route delivery with an emphasis on safety, customer service, and efficiency. Drivers will operate commercially licensed vehicles, primarily on 10-hour routes that allow them to return home daily for dinner. Bonus and incentive programs further enhance earning potential, rewarding drivers who exceed expectations.
This role involves a variety of responsibilities, including performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, loading and unloading products at customer locations, and adhering to specific route schedules that sometimes include early morning start times between 12 AM and 4 AM. Candidates must be comfortable maneuvering their vehicles into New York City and working efficiently under time constraints.
Drivers will be integral to maintaining strong customer relationships by accurately verifying deliveries, managing any complaints professionally, and communicating discrepancies clearly with management. The ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and placing merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds is required, making physical fitness an important aspect of the job.
Moreover, Sysco offers generous benefits aimed at promoting the well-being and satisfaction of their drivers. These benefits include paid vacation and holidays, comprehensive healthcare options starting as early as the first of the month following eligibility, retirement plans, employee discounts, and the opportunity to purchase discounted company stock. Sysco's supportive work environment encourages career advancement and values each team member's contribution to the success of the company.
Overall, this driving position offers a unique blend of competitive pay, meaningful work, and a balanced schedule that prioritizes getting drivers home safely each day. Candidates with a Class B Commercial Driver's License (Class A preferred) and 1-2 years of route delivery experience are encouraged to apply.
