Job Description

The hiring company is a well-established transportation and logistics service provider specializing in efficient route delivery and product distribution. Their operations are centered around maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction by adhering to precise route schedules and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The company places strong emphasis on safety, professionalism, and operational excellence within its teams. With a robust infrastructure that supports cross-dock models and a commitment to using reliable and well-maintained equipment, this company serves a diverse range of clients requiring daily delivery routes with frequent stops. The work environment promotes teamwork, skill development, and respect for all employees, customers, and the goods being handled. Employees are trained to meet company policies and Department of Transportation regulations, ensuring compliance and safety at all times.

This position offers an hourly pay rate of $22.00, making it an attractive opportunity for individuals seeking stable work in the transportation sector. The role is full-time and involves driving delivery trucks along assigned routes with the primary responsibility of loading, transporting, and unloading products efficiently. Drivers are required to carry out their duties within the parameters laid out by the Transportation Department Manager and operate effectively in a cross-dock environment where trucks are loaded at a central location and dispatched to customers. Drivers must follow detailed safety protocols, including performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, adhering to all Department of Transportation regulations, and handling company vehicles responsibly. Excellent customer service skills are essential as the role involves direct interaction with customers to confirm deliveries and resolve any issues professionally.

The position requires strong communication skills both for interacting effectively with customers and for internal reporting purposes, including verifying deliveries and handling discrepancies. Candidates must have the ability to read and speak English proficiently to understand signage, communicate with the public, and complete necessary documentation. Other key skills include planning and organizing work activities independently, managing customer relations, problem-solving, and building trust and loyalty with clients. Employees are expected to maintain open communication with other departments on matters relating to routing, safety, and customer service to ensure smooth operations.

This role is physically demanding and involves frequent lifting, bending, and other physical activities necessary for loading and unloading goods. Drivers must be comfortable working in confined spaces and able to safely climb in and out of truck boxes. Attention to detail and adherence to safety rules are critical to prevent accidents and maintain a reliable delivery schedule. The company provides ongoing support to help drivers meet and exceed productivity goals in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for growth and skill enhancement within the transportation field.
