Core-Mark is currently seeking a dedicated CDL A Delivery Driver for their Albuquerque, New Mexico location. The employment type is transportation, with a schedule from Monday through Friday, including dispatch times starting at 5:00 AM and requiring two overnight shifts per week.
The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in the food supply chain by ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food service products to customers. As the face of Core-Mark, the driver builds lasting relationships with clients while adhering to Department of Transportation regulations and company safety policies. Responsibilities include driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks on local and interstate routes, performing safety inspections, handling freight loading and unloading, and completing accurate delivery documentation. Drivers must maintain a clean driving record and possess a valid CDL A license to meet the job requirements. This position emphasizes customer service, safety, teamwork, and professionalism. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum age 21 years
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements
- Clean driving record for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or able to secure DOT Health Card
- Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move freight weighing 10-90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Valid CDL-A license
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or have valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure a new one
- Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheeler and lift gate
- Preferred: 1+ years foodservice distribution industry experience
- Preferred: Experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems such as PeopleNet
- Preferred: Experience with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems
- Preferred: Customer service-related work experience
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections
- Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure company safety standards are met
- Report all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Report all safety hazards immediately
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of loaded products
- Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
- Move tractor to the loading dock and attach the preloaded trailer as needed
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
- Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures
- Collect money where required
- Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
- Perform daily record of hours of service and enter in log per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock areas and secure all equipment at shift end
- Perform other related duties as assigned
