This organization's foundation is built on a strong employee-oriented culture that prioritizes the wellbeing, growth, and professional development of its workforce. Messer's commitment extends beyond simple service delivery; it aims to establish long-lasting partnerships with its customers through reliability, cutting-edge technology solutions, and an unwavering dedication to safety and sustainability.
Located in Kittery, ME, Messer is currently seeking qualified CDL-A Tanker Truck Drivers to join their team. This role is not just another driving job; it represents an opportunity to be part of a company making a meaningful impact on everyday life by providing critical gas solutions. As a CDL-A Tanker Truck Driver, you will have the chance to operate state-of-the-art, meticulously maintained tanker trucks while delivering essential industrial gases safely and efficiently. Messer offers an excellent compensation package, with an annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $110,000, along with a generous $5,000 sign-on bonus. Drivers typically work a five-day week with 2 consecutive days off, averaging 50-60 hours weekly. The position is designed to promote work-life balance by allowing drivers to return home daily, with occasional overnight layovers.
In addition to competitive pay, Messer provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage eligible within 30 days, a 401(k) plan with company match after one year, safety bonuses, a $4,000 driver referral bonus program, and a $3,000 retention bonus, emphasizing their investment in employee satisfaction and longevity. Drivers are supported with uniform, personal protective equipment (PPE), and yearly boot vouchers. Along with paid on-the-job training, employees are empowered to maintain a safe working environment and are valued as the "captain of their ship" in operational safety. Paid time off, two weeks of vacation, and paid holidays are additional perks contributing to a supportive and balanced work environment.
This role requires a Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a tanker endorsement, with hazardous materials (HAZMAT) endorsement preferred. Candidates must have at least one year of tractor-trailer driving experience, a good commercial and personal driving record, and a high school diploma or GED is preferred. Flexibility for shifts including nights and weekends and the ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle are also beneficial.

Messer’s safety culture, commitment to providing dependable supply, and innovative gas technology solutions help customers unlock opportunities in safety, sustainability, efficiency, and productivity. By joining Messer as a CDL-A Tanker Truck Driver, you will play a critical role in the delivery of gases that support health, safety, and manufacturing within communities. The company fosters an environment where what matters - both the product and the people - always come first.
