Job Description
Kodiak is a pioneering company at the forefront of autonomous trucking technology, dedicated to shaping the future of freight transportation. As a leading innovator in autonomous ground vehicle systems, Kodiak is committed to delivering safer, more efficient logistics solutions by integrating advanced AI-powered self-driving trucks into real-world commercial operations. Based in the southern United States, with a significant presence in the Permian Basin, Kodiak's mission revolves around redefining the standards for transportation safety and operational excellence across the trucking industry.
Kodiak is not your typical trucking company. They combine cutting-edge technology with experienced driver expertise to create a high-impact, high-tech driving experience. Their work environment encourages collaboration between drivers, engineers, operators, and field teams to continuously improve the performance and safety of autonomous freight movement. As a company trusted by commercial partners and the U.S. Department of Defense, Kodiak pushes the boundaries of innovation while emphasizing safety as a core value.
The role of CDL-A Driver at Kodiak is a unique opportunity for skilled drivers to engage directly with revolutionary autonomous trucking technology. This position, titled On-Site Support (OSS) Driver, involves supporting the operation of AI-powered self-driving trucks on local routes within the Permian Basin. You'll be working on a 4-on/4-off rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts, earning a competitive hourly wage of $39.00, which averages an annual income of approximately $86,000. This role offers the chance to be on the frontline of trucking autonomy while executing mission-critical tasks such as trucking sand and supporting fleet uptime, safety, and overall system performance.
In this hands-on position, drivers respond to live dispatches, assist with autonomous truck recovery, staging, and repositioning, and help operate commercial motor vehicles and support assets in dynamic and challenging environments. By joining Kodiak, drivers become crucial members of an elite team that collaborates closely with engineering and operational staff to tackle real-world problems, enhancing the safety and efficiency of next-generation trucking systems.
Beyond competitive pay, Kodiak values the well-being of its drivers through premium healthcare benefits, generous paid time off, double-time holiday pay, a 401(k) retirement plan, monthly cell phone subsidies, and referral rewards. The company supports career growth and safety, offering training opportunities and a professional environment where safety is a core mission, not just a priority.
If you have a valid Class A CDL, at least three years of verifiable CDL-A driving experience, and are comfortable working with technology and new autonomous systems, this is an exceptional chance to advance your trucking career while being part of an industry-transforming enterprise. Kodiak’s OSS Driver role calls for individuals committed to excellence, safety, and innovation in transportation, ready to drive the future of trucking locally with cutting-edge support roles.
