Job Description
System Transport is a highly reputable transportation company specializing in flatbed trucking. Established in 1972, it has built a legacy for hauling the essential materials that build America, maintaining the country's infrastructure and economy through reliable logistics and dedicated drivers. Operating with the ethos "America Proud, Flatbed Strong," System Transport emphasizes the value of its workforce, promising a blend of big company resources with a small company feel, fostering community and support for every driver.
This company offers a regional driving position for experienced CDL-A Flatbed Drivers focused on Western routes. The role is full-time with a competitive salary range between $46,748 and $90,792 annually, supported by a comprehensive benefits package. Drivers will receive exceptional pay packages, which include mileage pay from $0.59 to $0.73 per mile depending on experience, weekly earnings ranging from approximately $899 to $1,746 based on routes and attendance, plus additional compensations such as tarp pay, stop pay, detention pay, border crossing pay, safety bonuses, and over-dimensional pay where applicable.
New hires enjoy paid orientation hosted in Spokane, Washington, which includes airfare, private lodging, and meals during the training period, highlighting the company's commitment to supporting its drivers from day one. Orientation is structured to be efficient, with new drivers starting their routes shortly after arrival.
System Transport also boasts an extensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, available following a typical eligibility waiting period. Additional benefits include long and short-term disability insurance, a health savings account, a 401(k) plan with company match, employee assistance programs, transition packages, and paid time off that increases with tenure. The company also features a well-defined pet and guest rider policy, disallowing pets but permitting riders over the age of seven after 90 days of safe driving.
The role demands physical capability to handle flatbed loads, particularly the ability to lift a 90-pound tarp onto platforms up to five feet high, as part of handling approximately 70% of loads. This physical requirement will be tested during orientation to ensure driver readiness for flatbed duties.
Joining System Transport means becoming part of a team committed to safety, reliability, and the pride of driving a flatbed truck that contributes to the nation's growth. The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer, dedicated to fair pay and equal opportunity regardless of background. Qualified candidates with specific records are welcomed under California's Fair Chance laws, underlining System Transport's inclusive hiring practices.
Overall, the CDL-A Flatbed Driver position offers an excellent career opportunity for drivers seeking stability, competitive earnings, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive work environment focused on regional routes within the Western United States. With a founding history spanning over five decades, System Transport continues to be a leader in flatbed trucking, providing essential services that keep America moving forward.
