Job Description
US Foods is one of the largest food distributors in the United States, known for its strong culture of promoting from within, excellent training programs, and a firm commitment to continuous improvement. The company plays a vital role in the foodservice industry by supplying quality products and services to thousands of customers, helping them "Make It" through reliable delivery and outstanding customer service. With a widespread presence and deep industry knowledge, US Foods offers a dynamic work environment where employees can build rewarding, long-term careers. Their focus on safety, integrity, and collaboration ensures a supportive workplace where associates are valued and growth opportunities abound.
We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team as US Foods Drivers. This role is designed for those who are ready to build a career within a leading food service company dedicated to excellence. Our drivers play a crucial role in our operations, acting as key representatives of our brand on the road and at customer locations. The position is scheduled Monday through Saturday, with typical start times between 3 AM and 6 AM, requiring 30 to 70 hours per week, offering substantial work hours for applicants seeking steady employment.
The driver will be responsible for safely delivering foodservice products to customers in a timely manner, ensuring the accuracy and condition of orders during the delivery process. Drivers will unload products carefully using equipment such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, or by hand, placing items in designated areas within customer locations. Additionally, drivers maintain accurate delivery records by verifying orders and obtaining customer signatures upon receipt. They must have excellent customer service skills to foster positive client relationships and handle any necessary collections or payments.
Physical demands of the role include lifting and handling 20 to over 80 pounds of product repetitively throughout each shift, and working comfortably in various weather conditions, often making frequent stops during their routes. Drivers are required to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of their equipment to uphold safety standards, ensuring the vehicle’s condition is optimal for delivery tasks.
Candidates must meet certain regulatory requirements, including being at least 21 years of age and possessing a valid CDL Class A license with the necessary endorsements. A minimum of six months of commercial driving experience in any industry or three months specifically in food and beverage delivery is required. The ability to operate manual transmissions is preferred and may be necessary at certain locations. Proficiency in English is essential to ensure safe and effective communication on the road and with customers.
This position will relocate to Aurora, IL in mid-2026, reflecting US Foods' strategic expansion and operational adjustments. Compensation is competitive, with base pay ranging from $35.89 to $39.88 per hour, depending on experience, education, skills, location, and other factors in accordance with applicable law.
US Foods offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement plans, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance. These benefits reflect the company's commitment to supporting the health and financial security of their associates.
Joining US Foods means becoming part of a team that values integrity, reliability, and community involvement. As a driver, you will be more than just a delivery person; you will be a trusted face of US Foods, helping customers succeed and making a difference in the communities we serve. If you have a passion for driving and delivering excellent service while working for a company that invests in your career growth and well-being, this opportunity is the perfect fit.
