The role of a US Foods Delivery Driver is crucial in maintaining the company's reputation for reliable and efficient service. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting food products to customers, typically working five days a week with start times between 3 am and 7 am, allowing for early morning deliveries. The delivery driver position offers competitive pay, starting at $30.92 per hour plus component pay, with additional opportunities for overtime compensation and incentives based on mileage, case volume, and stops. This role demands both physical endurance and excellent customer service skills.

As a US Foods Delivery Driver, you will be tasked with ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products, unloading shipments using equipment such as pallet jacks and two-wheelers, and placing items in designated storage areas at customer locations. Independent judgment is required to verify order accuracy with customers and obtain proper signatures upon delivery. Additional duties include handling collections and payments when applicable, performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure safety compliance, and consistently providing professional, courteous service to enhance customer relationships.

This position requires the ability to work under various weather conditions, frequently stopping during routes, and performing physical tasks such as lifting and carrying items weighing between 20 to over 80 pounds repetitively throughout the shift. The role also demands a valid CDL Class A license with the necessary endorsements, and all drivers must be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse database as part of Department of Transportation requirements. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of six months commercial driving experience in any industry or three months of experience specifically in food or beverage delivery, with manual transmission operation preferred for certain locations.

Job Requirements

  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas

  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
