The company is currently seeking motivated CDL-A Drivers to join their team. These drivers play a crucial role in America’s food supply chain, ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products while representing the company’s values on the road. The position offers a competitive average yearly income starting at $80,000 plus lucrative quarterly safety bonus opportunities. Drivers will typically work a 5-day workweek Monday through Saturday, with Sundays off, and flexible scheduling regarding days off. Some routes may involve team driving or overnight assignments involving layovers. The dispatch window is from 12 AM to 5 AM, with an average shift length of 10 hours focused on ramp work.
The CDL-A Driver is responsible for operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and drive-and-drop deliveries. Duties include performing comprehensive safety inspections pre- and post-trip in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, maintaining professional communication with customers and co-workers, and completing all required documentation accurately. The driver will handle the secure loading and unloading of products, verify deliveries, collect payments when required, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of equipment and freight. Attention to detail, adherence to DOT guidelines, and a commitment to safe driving practices are essential in this role.
In addition to the rewarding salary and bonuses, Performance Foodservice offers many benefits such as day one health and wellness coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K with employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more. Drivers will have opportunities for career growth as they perform this vital role supporting the nation’s food distribution system. This position provides a safe and inclusive working environment where employees are valued and recognized for their contributions. If you are a qualified CDL-A driver who wants to be part of a respected company that values hard work and dedication, this role at Performance Foodservice offers a fulfilling and stable career path with excellent benefits and growth potential.
