As a CDL A Delivery Truck Driver at Sysco, you will play an essential role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of products to various customer locations. The job involves operating a tractor-trailer truck to transport food and other essential supplies and manually unloading and delivering products directly to customers. Drivers will build strong relationships with customers through positive interactions and by becoming familiar with each customer's unique operations to meet their expectations efficiently.

This role is ideal for individuals who have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License and a clean driving record, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and possess the physical stamina to handle freight that can weigh up to 100 pounds. Job Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • valid Class A Commercial Driver License
  • ability to read and speak English
  • physical ability to lift and move heavy freight
  • flexibility to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed
  • 1 year of customer delivery experience preferred
  • 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience preferred
  • 6 months food and beverage experience preferred
  • 2 years consistent work history preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with clean driving record
  • ability to read, speak and understand English sufficiently to converse with the public and understand highway traffic signs
  • physical capability to frequently lift and move products weighing 40-60 pounds and up to 100 pounds
  • strong customer service and communication skills
  • previous experience in delivery driving or food and beverage industry preferred
  • demonstrated reliability and flexibility in work schedule

Job Duties

  • Operate tractor-trailer safely and efficiently for local deliveries
  • manually unload and deliver various products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies
  • build and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • become familiar with customer operations to meet needs and expectations
  • adhere to assigned route schedules and timeframes
  • ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
