Job Description
FreshPoint Nashville, a part of Sysco Corporation, is a leading local distributor of fresh produce and specialty foods. Operating as an integral segment of Sysco, one of the largest foodservice companies in the world, FreshPoint Nashville provides a broad array of high-quality fruits, vegetables, and other perishable goods to restaurants, hotels, and institutional customers throughout the Nashville region. The company prides itself on exceptional customer service, reliability, and a commitment to supporting local producers and sustainable agriculture whenever possible. With a strong focus on fresh, quality produce and a dedication to timely deliveries, FreshPoint Nashville ensures that every client receives their orders in peak condition. As a Sysco company, FreshPoint Nashville benefits from a vast network of resources, ensuring operational excellence and business growth opportunities for all its employees.
The position available is for a CDL A Box Truck Delivery Driver who will be responsible for local deliveries of fresh produce and other perishable products. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a career in delivery driving within the foodservice distribution industry. The role demands a dependable and safety-conscious individual capable of managing daily routes with multiple stops and frequent customer interactions. Starting early in the morning, drivers enjoy a work-life balance that allows them to be home in time for dinner while supporting the ongoing success and high service standards of FreshPoint Nashville. The employment type is full-time, offering a base pay with additional incentives to reward performance. Paid benefits are included, providing stability and support for employees beyond their paycheck.
In this role, drivers are expected to handle touch freight, which means using physical effort to lift, push, or move produce packages weighing from 40 to 100 pounds regularly. Beyond the physical demands, drivers will operate within a cross-dock model where they pick up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries at a designated loading dock and return the empty trucks at the conclusion of their assigned route. This job requires effective route management, timely deliveries, and the ability to interact professionally with customers to ensure satisfaction. Drivers will also be responsible for conducting vehicle inspections in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and Sysco's safety policies.
Customer service skills are paramount, as drivers frequently verify deliveries with clients, handle discrepancies or complaints professionally, and communicate effectively with management and customers. The position requires flexibility with work hours, including the possibility of overtime, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business needs. Candidates should have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Prior experience in delivery driving, hand truck operation, and food and beverage industries are preferred but not mandatory, making this role accessible to motivated individuals looking for growth in their driving careers. FreshPoint Nashville offers a supportive environment with paid benefits and a commitment to employee wellbeing, making it an excellent place to build a productive and rewarding career in the logistics and food distribution sector.
