Job Description
TransForce is a leading driver staffing and recruiting company specializing in the commercial trucking industry. Established to connect professional drivers with top-tier trucking companies across North America, TransForce prides itself on providing reliable staffing solutions and fostering a driver-focused culture. The company continuously supports its drivers with steady work, competitive pay, and benefits, making it an employer of choice within the transportation sector. With a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and professional growth, TransForce enables drivers to maximize their potential while ensuring high standards of service with their partnered carriers.
Currently, TransForce is seeking a CDL A Intermodal Driver to support local operations based in Elwood, Illinois. This position is a flexible, temporary fill-in assignment with the potential to evolve into a long-term role. Drivers will have the opportunity to work a Monday through Friday schedule, primarily from 11 PM to 11 AM, providing a work-life balance that many seek. The hourly pay ranges from $29 to $30 per hour, with the higher rate available for drivers who possess a Hazmat endorsement.
The role involves operating intermodal equipment to handle freight locally within the Elwood area, including drop and hook routes. Drivers will work primarily with no-touch freight, making it easier to manage cargo without physically loading or unloading. This is an ideal role for experienced CDL A drivers looking to leverage their skills in a stable environment with competitive earnings and excellent benefits. The driver will need to perform essential tasks such as pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining accurate logs, and communicating effectively with dispatch and operations to ensure smooth and safe transportation operations.
TransForce values safety and compliance, requiring that candidates meet all DOT and FMCSA regulations and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record without recent major violations or preventable DOT-reportable accidents. Experience with CDL A intermodal work is mandatory, and while a Hazmat endorsement is preferred, it is not required. The company supports its team with medical, dental, and vision insurance options, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, and a referral program, underlining its commitment to driver well-being and satisfaction.
Joining TransForce means becoming part of a team that genuinely cares about the driver experience. Drivers enjoy steady pay, reliable schedules, and assignment flexibility tailored to their individual needs. This combination makes TransForce an excellent choice for drivers seeking a supportive employer who understands and values the demands of the trucking profession. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, emphasizing the company’s continuous need for qualified CDL A drivers to fill critical roles within their operations.
