Airgas is currently seeking a CDL A Driver - Shuttle to join their team in Sacramento, California, working within their acetylene production and filling plant. This full-time role offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $28.00 to $30.00 per hour, with opportunities for overtime. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., although occasional early morning runs at 2 a.m. or 4 a.m. may be required. The position mandates the use of a CDL A commercial driver's license with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements, underscoring the safety-sensitive nature of the job.

The CDL A Driver Shuttle will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of gas cylinders, containers, and supplies to scheduled routes, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective service. Duties include loading and unloading service trucks, adherence to company policies concerning safety and personal protective equipment, and active participation in hazard identification within the workplace. The driver will also maintain detailed records in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, inspect vehicles before and after shifts for safe operating conditions, and promptly report any vehicle defects or safety issues.

Beyond the core driving responsibilities, the role encompasses tasks such as pulling orders from the warehouse, processing customer payments, and performing non-route deliveries as necessary to meet customer product demand. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential problems with cylinders and maintaining compliance with all federal, state, local, and DOT safety regulations.
