With a fleet exceeding 13,000 vehicles, Sysco reaches more than 700,000 customer locations, supplying quality food products and services efficiently and reliably every day. At Sygma Detroit, the focus is on serving customers in the food industry by ensuring timely delivery of products in adherence to the highest safety and quality standards.
This role as a Tractor Trailer Driver is a crucial position within Sygma Detroit’s logistics and distribution operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting products from the warehouse to various customer locations using a tractor-trailer. The position requires strict adherence to delivery schedules, company policies, and regulatory requirements, including DOT regulations and food safety protocols. As part of the role, drivers will unload product from trailers by hand or with the aid of hand carts while navigating varying weather conditions and customer storage requirements. Moreover, the driver will handle damaged product returns and customer goods, ensuring they are safely returned to the warehouse. Attention to detail in completing necessary documentation such as electronic logs, maintenance reports, and delivery invoices is essential to this position. Additionally, the position offers a pathway to contribute significantly to Sysco’s mission of delivering outstanding service and staying at the heart of the foodservice industry. Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent, possessing or willing to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and experience handling tractor-trailers will find this a rewarding role with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Sysco is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workforce where all employees have the chance to thrive.
