With over 130 years of experience, McLane has developed an expansive nationwide network to support clients across diverse sectors such as restaurants, retail, and e-commerce. The company takes pride in its agility and adaptive approach, combining the utilization of cutting-edge technologies with dedicated team member training and a people-centered culture that makes McLane a preferred employer in its field. McLane’s commitment to safety, reliability, and consistent service excellence has established its reputation as a trusted provider to some of America’s favorite brands.

McLane's culture focuses on supporting their team, creating long-lasting careers, and ensuring a safe and fulfilling work environment. They emphasize equity and provide equal employment opportunities regardless of age, race, color, religion, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Prospective employees can expect a thorough employment consideration process including background checks and drug screening within the scope of applicable laws.

The role of CDL-A Delivery Driver at McLane offers highly competitive compensation, with pay ranging from $85,000 to $95,000 annually. This is a career-focused, full-time position ideal for individuals who are passionate about driving and committed to safety and punctuality. Drivers enjoy industry-leading pay, secure client relationships, and the opportunity to spend more time at home, which many drivers find invaluable. McLane provides their drivers with a solid support system including comprehensive benefits from day one, such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, and company-paid life insurance.

In this role, CDL-A Delivery Drivers are responsible for the safe operation and management of tractor-trailers during deliveries. This includes performing detailed vehicle inspections before and after trips, accurately managing delivery paperwork such as bills of lading and store keys, and ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. Drivers must maintain accurate logs, documenting delivery receipts, product temperatures, and exceptions using manual methods or electronic tracking systems like Peoplenet. They also handle the unloading of trailers and delivering products directly into customer premises, contributing to an efficient supply chain.

McLane values drivers who are safety-focused, reliable, adaptable, and dedicated. The company’s team-oriented mindset creates an engaging and supportive workplace where these attributes are nurtured, helping drivers build long-term careers. Additional benefits include paid holidays, vacation accrual, sick leave, and access to programs offering pet insurance, maternity and paternity leave, employee assistance, tuition reimbursement, and various employee discounts. Furthermore, McLane provides a 401(k) profit-sharing plan available after 90 days of employment, underscoring their investment in employee financial well-being.

This role is critical to McLane’s ongoing mission to move America forward by ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods that keep businesses and consumers connected. It is well suited for responsible, mature drivers who take pride in their work and understand the importance of upholding McLane’s standards of service and safety. Prospective candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid CDL-A license, have at least one year or 50,000 miles of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience, and meet McLane’s motor vehicle record and risk rating requirements. Additionally, candidates need to have sufficient English proficiency to comprehend instructions, safety protocols, and essential communication related to their duties.
