Job Description

US FOODS is one of the largest foodservice distributors in the United States, renowned for its commitment to quality, customer service, and career growth opportunities. The company prides itself on a culture where employees are valued and hard work is recognized, offering a pathway for unlimited professional development. With a strong emphasis on internal promotion and ongoing job skills and leadership training, US FOODS continues to be a leader in the foodservice industry. They provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other valuable employee programs.

This role as a US FOODS Delivery Driver is essential to the company's operations. Delivery drivers are the face of US FOODS to many of their customers, responsible for ensuring that meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies are delivered accurately and on time. The position offers local routes which means drivers can be home every night, operating Monday through Saturday with shift start times between 12am and 5am until the day’s deliveries are complete. Drivers receive competitive compensation starting at a base rate of $33.72 per hour plus overtime and are eligible for a $7,500 retention bonus. US FOODS supports its drivers with paid training, paid overtime, and a focus on employee recognition and development.

The Delivery Driver role requires a strong work ethic, dedication, and the ability to provide outstanding customer service. Drivers must be able to safely unload products, often performing repeated heavy lifting up to 80 pounds, and navigate frequent stops even in adverse weather conditions. This role demands reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to verify deliveries with customers to maintain customer satisfaction and uphold the company’s reputation. It is also crucial that drivers meet all the necessary licensing and physical requirements including holding a valid CDL Class A license with endorsements, passing a DOT physical, and complying with Department of Transportation regulations including registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Being part of the US FOODS transportation team means joining a company that prioritizes employees by offering competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a positive work environment focused on respect and reward. The company is dedicated to fostering a collaborative spirit and culture that aligns with its core values and service excellence. This role not only offers a stable and rewarding career path but also the opportunity to contribute directly to the success and growth of one of the foodservice industry’s top distributors.
