The position available is an entry-level Driver Trainee role, designed for candidates seeking to build experience and gain expertise in driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks. This training role involves performing local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight delivery routes to transport various food and related products safely and efficiently to customers. The trainee will work closely with a driver trainer, learning operational best practices and gaining hands-on experience under supervision.

Key performance expectations include adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety guidelines, completing necessary safety inspections on vehicles and freight, interacting professionally with customers and colleagues, and completing all required paperwork accurately and legibly. The driver trainee supports the company mission by contributing as a proactive team member, ensuring that all delivery services meet high standards of customer service, operational efficiency, and safety compliance.

This role offers a comprehensive entry into the transportation and logistics field within the food distribution industry, with considerable opportunities for growth and advancement. Successful completion of PFG's structured driver training program is required, including all completion of training documentation and certification. Trainees who meet the performance and safety standards may advance to full driver status within the company.
