Located in Denver, Colorado (Zip Code: 80238), the Sygma Denver Team invites determined and hardworking individuals who seek a fulfilling career, stability, and a workplace to call home.
The role on offer is that of a Delivery Driver, a vital position contributing directly to the core of Sysco's operational success. This full-time employment position comes with a competitive compensation range from $10.00 to $48.00 per hour, taking into account individual skills, years of experience, and other relevant factors. Additionally, associates may qualify for participation in the company’s Incentive Plan, enhancing earning potential.
Delivery Drivers at Sygma Denver manage between two to four routes weekly, with a total work commitment of no more than 70 hours. A career with Sygma offers an average annual pay approaching $100,000, reflecting the company’s dedication to rewarding hard work and maintaining a motivated team. Drivers operate highly maintained, all-automatic equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency during product transportation.
This role requires transporting products from the warehouse to varied customer locations using a tractor-trailer vehicle and ensuring unloaded products meet customer specifications and company standards. Delivery procedures include manual unloading or utilization of hand carts along ramps, docks, and stairs, performed in all weather conditions. Drivers must adhere strictly to food safety protocols, maintaining temperature controls, inspecting products for damage, and preventing cross-contamination. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the tractor, trailer, warehouse, and yard is an essential part of the job.
The position also demands comprehensive paperwork management, including DOT logs, vehicle inspections, and accurate daily invoicing. Successful candidates will develop and sustain strong customer relationships through excellent communication and courteous service.
In return, Sygma Denver provides numerous benefits including ten paid holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance effective the first of the month after 31 days of employment, 401(k) and Sysco stock purchase plans, and flexible routes including team and single routes primarily scheduled from Sunday to Friday during evening dispatch hours. Moreover, a culture of safety and health is emphasized, including provision of personal protective equipment, temperature screenings, and rigorous sanitization protocols.
This role, located in a non-travel necessity environment, requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent, preferably supplemented by tractor-trailer driving school completion. A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License is mandatory, along with insurability. Candidates should possess knowledge of DOT regulations, Hazmat guidelines, and safe lifting/delivery practices and demonstrate skills in long-distance driving, problem-solving, and effective customer communication.
Physical demands involve lifting and moving products up to 50 pounds by hand and pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds with a two-wheeled hand cart, frequent climbing in and out of vehicles, and working under various environmental conditions including temperature extremes and noisy settings. Shift work, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, is required to meet customer needs.
Sygma Denver and Sysco Corporation are committed to equal employment opportunities and affirmative action practices, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace. Interested applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This evergreen job posting remains open with no set application deadline, inviting qualified individuals to embark on a rewarding career path with a global leader in the foodservice industry.
