Job Description

PFG Customized Distribution is a leading logistics and food distribution company that caters to some of America’s most recognized national chain restaurants, including Cracker Barrel, TGI Friday’s, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, and Ruby Tuesday. With a focus on customized attention, centralized contact for product lines, menu changes, and account coordination, PFG Customized Distribution serves customers not only across the United States but also in more than 40 countries worldwide. The company prides itself on delivering fresh, high-quality food service products while maintaining top-tier service standards that support the complex supply chains and operational needs of its esteemed clientele. Established as a key player in the food supply chain, PFG Customized Distribution ensures that restaurants receive the products they need efficiently and reliably, contributing significantly to the success of its partners in the highly competitive hospitality industry.

The Driver, Formula CDL-A role is integral to the operations of PFG Customized Distribution. This position is designed for experienced commercial drivers who are capable of handling both solo and team routes, including out-of-state layovers twice per week. The routes involve crossing state lines, so drivers must have no K restriction on their commercial driver's license (CDL). Drivers operate newer, automatic trucks and equipment while using ramp work, touch freight techniques, and handling mixed pallets — this variety requires adaptability and physical stamina. The weekly minimum pay for drivers on route is competitive at $1,540, placing this role among attractive career opportunities for those in the transportation and logistics sector.

In this important role, drivers are responsible for the safe and timely delivery of food and food-related products. They act as the face of the company, establishing strong relationships with customers through professional communication and dependable service. Their duties include performing all required Department of Transportation (DOT) safety inspections, ensuring that freight is properly loaded and secured, and adhering strictly to all DOT guidelines and company safety policies. Drivers are tasked with completing accurate and legible paperwork, managing loading and unloading at customer locations, verifying deliveries, and handling customer payments when necessary.

Beyond the physical demands of driving and freight handling, this position offers robust benefits and a safe, inclusive working environment. Employees benefit from health and wellness coverage starting from day one, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and many more perks designed to support workers' wellbeing and career growth. PFG Customized Distribution values its employees highly, emphasizing a culture of respect, safety, recognition, and professional growth. By joining their team, drivers contribute meaningfully to America’s essential food distribution network, ensuring millions have access to fresh meals daily. This role is well-suited for individuals looking to build a rewarding transportation career with a reputable company that prioritizes employee satisfaction and operational excellence.
