The Driver, Hourly CDL-A role is an integral part of the company’s operations, responsible for the safe and timely delivery of food and food service products. Drivers act as the face of the company and play a critical role in maintaining lasting relationships with customers. The job involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local drives, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. Drivers must adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards, ensuring that every delivery meets the highest quality criteria. This position operates on a four-day workweek with a schedule of Monday through Friday, starting shifts between midnight and 4:00 AM, handling two-day routes with two overnight stays per week. The role includes a substantial sign-on bonus of $10,000.
Key responsibilities include performing mandatory safety checks before and after trips, inspecting vehicles for mechanical and safety issues, adhering to all DOT and company safety policies, and promptly reporting hazards. Drivers conduct thorough inspections to verify that freight is properly loaded and secured, ensuring accurate count checks and completion of necessary paperwork. They maneuver vehicles to docks, attach trailers, and navigate predetermined routes to deliver products. Beyond driving, the role entails unloading products, verifying deliveries and payments, managing customer returns, and maintaining cleanliness and order of equipment and trailers. Drivers also keep detailed logs of hours worked compliant with federal and company protocols and may perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma/GED or equivalent
- must be 21+ years of age
- valid CDL-A
- meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
- able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma/GED or equivalent
- valid CDL-A license

- onboard computer and electronic log system experience
- hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience
- customer service-related work experience
Job Duties
- perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to department of transportation regulations
- inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and report all safety issues or repairs required
- follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- immediately report all safety hazards and inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded and complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
- move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule and unload products from the trailer transporting items into designated customer storage areas
- perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures, collect money where required
- load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors ensuring tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- unload damaged goods and customer returns and bring to driver check-in completing necessary paperwork
- unload equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required
- complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with federal DOT, state and company requirements
- perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required and secure all equipment and paperwork at end of shift
- perform other related duties as assigned
