Job Description

US Foods is a leading foodservice distributor in the United States, recognized as one of the top 10 largest private companies nationwide. Headquartered in Rosemont, Ill., US Foods partners with approximately 300,000 restaurants and foodservice operators, providing them with comprehensive products and services essential for their business success. The company prides itself on operational excellence, safety, environmental responsibility, and a strong ethical foundation. With a workforce of about 25,000 associates spread across more than 60 locations, US Foods offers a collaborative and inclusive environment that values diversity and innovation. Employees benefit from numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth in a high-performance setting focused on growth and sustainability.

The role of a US Foods Delivery Driver is pivotal in supporting the company’s commitment to impeccable customer service and operational efficiency. Based in Lexington, KY, this full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $35.86 with an increase to $38.17 after the one-year anniversary, alongside annual wage increments thereafter. Delivery Drivers enjoy a four-day workweek schedule, typically Monday through Friday, with shifts starting between 3:30 AM and 5:30 AM and lasting over 10 hours until deliveries are completed. Weekly pay, low-cost benefits from day one, and a strong safety culture distinguish the role.

This role centers on safely transporting products to various customers, verifying delivery accuracy, and providing excellent customer interactions. Drivers are responsible for unloading products using equipment like pallet jacks or by hand, confirming deliveries with customer signatures, collecting payments when applicable, and conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections for vehicle safety. Physical stamina is important as the job involves lifting and moving products ranging from 20 to over 80 pounds repeatedly during shifts, and driving in varying weather conditions with frequent stops.

The position requires candidates to be at least 21 years old, hold a valid CDL Class A license issued by their state of residence along with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications. A minimum of six months of commercial driving experience in any industry, or at least three months specifically within the food or beverage delivery sector, is necessary. While the ability to operate manual transmissions is preferred and sometimes required, strong communication skills in English for understanding traffic signs and interacting with customers are essential. Registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse is a mandatory requirement.

US Foods prioritizes its drivers as integral representatives of the company, emphasizing integrity, reliability, and the development of trusting relationships with clients. The company offers an outstanding package of benefits, including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K with company contributions and matching, life insurance, and an employee stock purchase plan. Their commitment to a supportive work environment is reflected in excellent local leadership and a strong culture of safety.

By joining US Foods as a Delivery Driver, employees become part of a dedicated team that not only helps customers succeed but also supports each employee's career growth and financial well-being in a rewarding and stable industry environment. This role offers a meaningful and challenging career path for individuals passionate about driving, customer service, and thriving within a company dedicated to operational excellence and innovation.
