Based in Austin, Texas, SMT has built a reputation for reliability, safety, and professional service, playing a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain industry by ensuring that various types of freight are transported securely and delivered on time. As a company with deep-rooted values and a strong commitment to its drivers, SMT offers a family-oriented working environment that values safety, career growth, and employee well-being.
SMT specializes in LTL transportation services that cater to a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from small businesses to large enterprises. With its fleet of modern vehicles and a team of experienced drivers, the company handles diverse freight types efficiently while maintaining stringent safety standards. This long-standing legacy of excellence makes SMT an ideal employer for truck drivers seeking stable employment, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to join a company that genuinely cares about its workforce.
SMT is currently hiring Delivery Drivers for the Austin, TX area. This role is ideal for seasoned professionals who hold a valid CDL Class A license and a Hazmat endorsement, with at least one year of recent experience driving tractor-trailers. The job offers a home-daily schedule with weekends off, making it attractive for drivers seeking work-life balance without sacrificing earning potential. Drivers will be responsible for picking up and delivering freight within the local area, ensuring that all cargo is handled safely and efficiently.
The role requires drivers to perform pre- and post-trip inspections on their vehicles, maintain communication with supervisors and colleagues, and adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations. Additionally, drivers must be comfortable backing into docks multiple times daily and participating in the loading and unloading of freight. The company takes pride in offering a supportive work environment where safety is paramount, and professionalism is expected at all times.
SMT provides an attractive benefits package that includes health, dental, and life insurance, profit-sharing and 401(k) plans, vacation and holiday pay, as well as weekly pay deposited directly into employees' accounts. The combination of competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and quality home time positions SMT as a top choice for local delivery drivers in Austin. Drivers joining SMT become part of a respected transportation company with a rich history and a promising future that values every team member's contributions and well-being.
