This position involves delivering food and related products safely and on schedule to customers, ensuring all items arrive in excellent condition. You will represent the company, building strong, positive relationships with clients through professional interaction and consistent, dependable delivery service. With a 5-day work week and availability required Monday through Saturday, you’ll experience varied dispatch times that offer dynamic workdays. The role offers a competitive salary with earning potential over $90,000 annually, alongside a $2,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates who have not worked for a PFG-owned company in the last six months.
This role requires driving tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries. As a driver, you will be responsible for conducting thorough safety inspections in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, maintaining DOT health card validity, and adhering to safe driving policies to ensure the protection of yourself and the public. You will perform loading and unloading duties, manage freight securely, verify delivery accuracy with customer signatures, and handle necessary documentation meticulously. Other duties include collecting payments, reporting damaged goods, and undertaking daily maintenance activities to keep vehicles and equipment in optimal condition.
Performance Foodservice emphasizes safety, integrity, and teamwork, fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace culture that recognizes and rewards employee contributions. The company provides comprehensive benefits starting from day one, such as health and wellness coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. Growth opportunities abound within the company, allowing employees to develop their careers while supporting America's vital food distribution infrastructure.
