Job Description

Performance Foodservice is a leading broadline distributor that plays a vital role in America's food supply chain. As a part of Performance Food Group (PFG), the company services a diverse customer base including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. With a dedicated team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts, Performance Foodservice fosters close relationships with their clients, offering valuable advice on everything from menu development and product selection to operational strategies. The company prides itself not only on delivering delicious food but also on supporting independent restaurant owners to achieve their business goals and dreams. This emphasis on relationship-building and comprehensive service sets Performance Foodservice apart in the highly competitive food distribution sector.

The CDL-A Driver position at Performance Foodservice is a crucial role within the company’s logistics and distribution operations. Offering a competitive annual guaranteed salary of $96,200, this full-time role works Monday through Friday, allowing drivers to return home daily. The company also emphasizes employee well-being by providing a safe and inclusive working environment characterized by a culture of reward, recognition, and respect. The position offers day-one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401(k) employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and numerous growth opportunities for those dedicated to supporting America’s food distribution system.

Food and food service delivery drivers are essential to ensuring products arrive safely and on time to a wide range of customers. The CDL-A driver will operate tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes including over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive and drop deliveries. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, delivering and unloading goods, and ensuring excellent customer service as a representative of Performance Foodservice. Drivers are required to conduct thorough pre- and post-trip safety inspections, maintain accurate and timely paperwork, and communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers. This role demands physical stamina, as drivers must be able to handle loading and unloading tasks requiring lifting and use of equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates.

This position is not just about transporting food—it’s about being the public face of Performance Foodservice and establishing lasting customer relationships built on trust and professionalism. Each delivery person contributes directly to the company’s mission of sustaining and improving the food distribution system across multiple markets. With its comprehensive benefits package, robust training and developmental resources, and commitment to diversity and equal opportunity employment, Performance Foodservice is an outstanding employer for experienced CDL-A drivers seeking a rewarding career in logistics and distribution.
