The US Foods Driver position is a critical role that supports the company’s mission to deliver vital food products to clients throughout the region. Drivers operate trucks on scheduled routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery of food items to customers seven days a week, typically with early morning start times between 3 AM and 6 AM. This position involves significant physical tasks such as unloading products with equipment like pallet jacks or manually, verifying deliveries, handling customer payments if needed, and performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. The role requires a strong customer service orientation, as drivers serve as a direct link between US Foods and its clients, aiming to provide an excellent customer experience with professionalism and reliability.

The position demands physical endurance, as drivers frequently lift, carry, push, and pull heavy products weighing between 20 to more than 80 pounds under varying weather conditions. This role requires licensure and compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, including registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a secure database tracking commercial driver licensing and alcohol/drug program violations. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid Class A CDL from their state of residence with applicable endorsements and DOT qualifications. Prior commercial driving experience is necessary, with a minimum of six months in any industry, or three months specifically in food and beverage delivery. The ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle is preferred and may be required depending on location. Fluency in English, adequate communication skills, and the ability to understand and respond to road signs, inquiries, and records are also important.

The US Foods driver role offers competitive compensation ranging from $35.89 to $39.88 per hour, based on experience, skills, education, and location.
