Job Description

Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group (PFG), is a premier broadline foodservice distributor in the United States that serves a diverse range of local customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The company's dedicated team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts work closely with customers to provide tailored advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and business strategies to help independent restaurant owners thrive in a competitive market. The organization is committed to not only delivering high-quality food products but also fostering strong, lasting business relationships and supporting the foodservice industry with exceptional service and operational excellence.

This position is for an experienced commercial delivery driver who will play a critical role in ensuring the timely delivery of food and food service products as part of America's essential food supply chain. The job involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks primarily on local routes with some opportunities for over-the-road routes that may have brief layovers. Drivers are expected to be available for a 4-5 day work week with dispatch mornings between 3am and 5am, Monday through Saturday. Offering earning potential upwards of $90,000 per year, this role seeks individuals often described as industrial athletes—those who bring physical endurance, efficiency, and a strong commitment to their duties.

In this role, delivery drivers not only guarantee that customer products arrive safely, on time, and in excellent condition, but they also serve as the company's front line, creating positive customer interactions that foster loyalty and customer satisfaction. The responsibilities encompass a wide range of duties that include performing safety inspections in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, maintaining vehicle and cargo safety standards, managing paperwork accuracy, securing deliveries, handling customer payments, and assisting with the loading and unloading of products.

Performance Foodservice prioritizes a workplace culture of safety, respect, and inclusiveness. Drivers benefit from competitive pay and comprehensive advantages including day-one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and much more. Beyond compensation, this role offers valuable growth opportunities within a company that supports and values its employees as vital contributors to the food distribution ecosystem.

The company’s inclusive environment encourages teamwork and continuous professional development while maintaining strict adherence to safety and federal regulatory standards. Drivers are expected to take all necessary safety precautions, report any hazards or equipment issues promptly, and contribute positively to the work environment. This job is ideal for energetic, safety-minded individuals committed to operational excellence and customer service in an essential industry. With its focus on both employee welfare and customer satisfaction, Performance Foodservice presents an excellent opportunity for qualified delivery drivers to build a rewarding career in the food logistics sector.
