Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 6 months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Meet state licensing and/or certification requirements
- Clean driving record for past 3 years
- Pass a drug test and criminal background check
- Pass driving road test
- Obtain or currently hold a valid DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift product cases ranging from 10 to 90 pounds using equipment
- Ability to work Tuesday through Friday with early morning dispatch between 4am and 6am
- Must be able to work intrastate and interstate routes
- Must adhere to Department of Transportation regulations and company policies
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
- 6+ months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or hold current valid DOT Health Card or be able to secure one
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate or other equipment to move and stack freight
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate actions
- Report all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Perform count check of items and verify customer invoices
- Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
- Move tractor to the loading dock and attach the preloaded trailer as needed
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
- Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor about removing orders
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
- Collect money where required
- Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
- Complete daily record of hours of service and log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean
- Secure equipment and complete paperwork at end of shift
- Perform other related duties as assigned
