Job Description
Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group (PFG), stands as a leading broadline foodservice distributor dedicated to serving a diverse clientele ranging from independent restaurants and hotels to healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. With a presence that emphasizes personalized service, the company fosters strong relationships with customers by leveraging the expertise of its sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other specialists. These professionals collaborate closely with customers to enhance operational efficiency, refine menu offerings, improve product selection, and implement strategic operational advances. Beyond simply delivering food, Performance Foodservice commits to supporting the aspirations of independent restaurant owners and businesses, helping them thrive in a competitive marketplace.
The role of a Class A CDL Delivery Driver at Performance Foodservice is pivotal within the food supply chain. This position involves the safe and timely delivery of food and related products to a variety of customers, ensuring orders are complete and goods arrive in excellent condition. The driver will operate tractor-trailer or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local and over-the-road (OTR) assignments, shuttle runs, overnight shifts, and drive-and-drop routes. This employment opportunity is based out of Rogers, MN, with early morning dispatch starting at 13400 Commerce Blvd. Drivers in training earn an effective hourly rate of $34, while trained drivers have the potential to earn an average of $100,000 annually through a comprehensive component pay program. Additionally, an attractive sign-on bonus of $12,000 is offered, subject to eligibility requirements. The role demands adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies to maintain high standards of safety and customer service.
In this position, the delivery driver is not just a transporter but also the face of Performance Foodservice. The driver establishes strong, professional relationships with customers by providing exemplary service and support, addressing inquiries, and representing the company’s values during every interaction. Responsibilities include rigorous pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, ensuring freight is properly loaded and secured, following precise delivery schedules, and managing all related paperwork accurately. Drivers will engage in unloading freight, verifying order accuracy, collecting payments when necessary, and performing routine maintenance and housekeeping duties on company vehicles and trailers. Performance Foodservice regards its delivery drivers as essential team members contributing to the company's mission of delivering quality food products and outstanding customer service.
Join Performance Foodservice and become part of a safe, inclusive work environment committed to employee growth through substantial benefits such as day one health and wellness coverage, employee stock purchase plans, 401K matching, education assistance, and paid time off. The company emphasizes a culture of recognition, respect, and rewards, making it a rewarding place for professional development. If you are a skilled Class A CDL driver seeking a dependable, well-compensated career with upward mobility in the food distribution industry, this position offers a compelling opportunity to deliver both products and success across the region.
