Job Description

FreshPoint is a leading fresh produce distributor and a prominent division of Sysco Corporation, one of the largest global foodservice distributors. Located in Warren, Ohio, FreshPoint specializes in delivering high-quality fresh fruits, vegetables, and related products to a wide range of customers including restaurants, healthcare providers, hotels, and other foodservice operations. The company is known for its commitment to fresh food quality, exceptional customer service, and community involvement. With a strong reputation in the industry, FreshPoint emphasizes employee growth and development, creating a supportive environment where team members are encouraged to expand their skills and build rewarding careers.

FreshPoint is currently hiring Local CDL-A and CDL-B Drivers in Warren, OH, offering local driving routes that guarantee home time daily. The opportunity presents a competitive salary with CDL-A drivers expected to earn between $75,000 and $83,000 per year and CDL-B drivers earning between $58,000 and $62,000 per year, both including paid benefits. This role is ideal for candidates seeking a stable local driving position that allows them to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, delivering fresh produce with a customer-focused approach.

As a Local CDL-A or CDL-B Driver at FreshPoint, your primary responsibility will be to complete daily delivery routes using either a straight truck or larger commercial vehicle, depending on your license. These routes involve multiple stops where you will unload products, handle packages using hand trucks, and deliver items efficiently and safely to customers. The work environment follows a cross-dock delivery model, requiring drivers to pick up preloaded trucks from designated loading docks each night and return empty trucks to the assigned lot once routes are completed. Drivers will sometimes assist warehouse staff with loading duties and palletizing, showing flexibility and teamwork in assisting where necessary. This position also requires excellent client-facing customer service skills as drivers are often the direct link between the company and its customers.

The role demands early morning start times and the ability to manage touch-freight operations, a process where the driver manually handles the freight during deliveries. Effective communication skills in English are necessary to understand traffic regulations, converse courteously with customers, and complete accurate delivery records. FreshPoint values drivers who take pride in safety, punctuality, and professionalism, contributing to the company’s mission of surpassing customer expectations.

FreshPoint offers a comprehensive benefits package including paid vacation and holidays, robust healthcare coverage, retirement plans, employee discounts, service recognition programs, and referral incentives. The company culture encourages employee engagement and rewards performance, ensuring team members feel valued and motivated. FreshPoint also supplies uniforms and maintains safety programs to support drivers in their daily tasks.

Overall, this role is a fantastic opportunity for professional drivers seeking a rewarding position within a stable and respected company offering career progression and excellent local routes. FreshPoint’s commitment to quality service and employee satisfaction makes it an employer of choice in the area, providing a dependable work schedule with competitive compensation and benefits.
