The Chief Clinical Officer-in-Training (CCIT) Program with Cornerstone is a unique and comprehensive 12-week, full-time paid executive training initiative designed to develop entrepreneurial-minded leaders passionate about home health, hospice, and home care. This immersive program equips participants with the skills and experience necessary to lead and manage clinical services and teams in these specialized healthcare settings. CCIT participants gain hands-on exposure to clinical care services, agency operations, administrative support, and people leadership under the mentorship of expert clinical partners. The program emphasizes cultivating a strong team culture, driving results, and mastering the complex business model behind Pennant's success.
Trainees shadow department heads and frontline staff, learning the day-to-day rhythm of agency operations, including understanding clinical controls and processes. Real-time project leadership opportunities empower CCIT participants to implement meaningful improvements within host agencies. The program also emphasizes preparation for a Director-level leadership role, focusing on staffing, team engagement, and community growth strategies. Additional learning encompasses relevant state regulations and best practices specific to home healthcare operations. Anchoring the program are Pennant’s CAPLICO core values that align leadership, interpersonal skills, and mission dedication.
Graduates of the CCIT program are well-positioned to advance into leadership roles heading existing or new agencies with continued mentorship and operational support. This career pathway offers a rewarding opportunity to impact the lives of individuals receiving home-based care, by fostering innovative care delivery models and supporting strong clinical teams. The position requires relocation flexibility within Cornerstone’s operational regions of Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Oregon, or Washington. This career development track blends clinical expertise with strategic leadership, making it an attractive opportunity for healthcare professionals licensed in nursing, social work, speech-language pathology, or occupational therapy, who seek growth in a supportive and mission-driven environment.
