As a prominent city in Texas, Plano prides itself on fostering a community-oriented environment where innovation meets tradition, ensuring quality service delivery and excellence in every aspect of city operations. This commitment extends to the hospitality and event management sector where the City plays host to a variety of events that require impeccable coordination and service standards. The City of Plano operates several facilities, including the Plano Centre, a prominent venue for hosting events ranging from corporate banquets and elegant dinners to large-scale public functions and concessions services. The City values staff who contribute positively to the community's experience by upholding high standards of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
The Food Service Coordinator position within the City of Plano offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team responsible for the successful execution of a wide array of catered events. This role is integral in managing the food and beverage services, encompassing conveniences such as concessions, banquet services, bar management, and food delivery operations within and outside the Plano Centre. The coordinator is tasked with supervising banquet staff through all phases of event operations—from setup and preparation to the breakdown after the conclusion of events—ensuring that every function runs smoothly and exceeds customer expectations.
As a Food Service Coordinator, you will be a key player in maintaining a seamless flow of service during breakfast meetings, evening banquets, and high-volume functions, which requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments. You will collaborate closely with Banquet Supervisors, Food Sales & Service Supervisors, and kitchen staff to ensure consistent presentation quality and adherence to food safety standards. Additionally, the role encompasses management of cash handling and inventory for both food and alcoholic beverage services, requiring Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) certification. Your responsibilities will also include training and mentoring food service personnel while promoting a positive work environment based on mutual respect.
This full-time position is suitable for candidates with a passion for hospitality, experience in food and beverage supervision, and a proven ability to coordinate complex events with attention to detail. If you thrive in environments where customer satisfaction is paramount and enjoy leading teams that uphold excellence in service delivery, the Food Service Coordinator role at the City of Plano provides a rewarding career path within a supportive municipal framework.
