The Catering Supervisor role is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the total catering operations within one of the company’s units. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities from order taking to delivery coordination and preparation of food. The supervisor will engage directly with outside customers and guests, ensuring that the service provided meets the company’s quality expectations. Key duties include managing catering orders by phone and online through POS systems, scheduling delivery drivers, overseeing food production and presentation, and maintaining general cleanliness and organization within the catering area.

In this role, the Catering Supervisor will take charge of the entire catering process from start to finish, including baking, assembly of catering items such as baskets, trays, and bowls, and handling the distribution of tips on a daily basis. The position requires close collaboration with catering and retail employees as well as the restaurant management team to coordinate efforts and enhance the overall guest experience.

Additionally, the Catering Supervisor has sales responsibilities that include daily customer follow-ups, menu presentations and tastings, community event coordination, and territory canvassing to identify new sales leads. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or in process of completing same
  • Must be able to complete CBC driver training, pass a MVR according to CBC standards and maintain a valid drivers license with insurance
  • State Foodhandler card or ServSafe certification as applicable
  • Preferably a minimum of 3 months work experience in a guest service capacity
  • Restaurant or retail environment preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office environment and POS systems
  • Possess strong guest service and communication skills
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be proficient in basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

Job Duties

  • Takes and modifies orders over phone using POS
  • Enters orders placed online into POS
  • Resolves customer concerns with manager approval
  • Assigns deliveries to catering employees
  • Begins and completes baking/food preparation
  • Assembles catering food in baskets, trays and bowls
  • Makes deliveries by vehicle and or by foot
  • Responsible for breakfast and lunch preparation
  • Responsible for clean-up duties
  • Empties trash as required
  • Responsible for distributing tips daily
  • Executes catering sales initiatives including daily customer call backs, menu drops, community event coordination and execution, menu presentations and food tastings, identifying sales leads through active territory canvassing
  • Maintains abundant FOH displays and condiment stations
  • Checks bathrooms
  • Busses tables
  • Prepares food to spec and order request
  • Maintains accurate cash flow and integrity of financial transactions
  • Prepares and organizes food for delivery to guest
