Job Description
Stratton is a premier mountain resort known for its vibrant community and commitment to providing extraordinary guest experiences. Nestled in a scenic location, Stratton prides itself not only on its stunning natural environment but also on fostering a work culture that balances hard work with fun and camaraderie. The resort is part of Alterra Mountain Company, which offers employees access to various benefits such as free lift access to Alterra resorts and discounted memberships, making it a dynamic place to work for those passionate about mountain lifestyles and hospitality. Stratton's vision is to be a bold mountain community cultivating extraordinary experiences, which is reflected in its team-oriented approach and dedication to service excellence.
The catering team at Stratton is currently seeking enthusiastic and hardworking team members who are looking for a flexible schedule while working in a fast-paced catering environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in food and beverage service within an incredible mountain resort setting. Compensation for serving and bartending shifts is $15 per hour plus tips, while non-tipped shifts pay $20 per hour. Beyond the competitive pay, employees enjoy a range of lifestyle perks and career advancement opportunities, including access to multiple resort passes, discounts on golf and fitness center memberships, childcare rates, retail and food and beverage discounts, and onsite medical clinic access.
As a catering team member, you will be responsible for supporting event setups and breakdowns, maintaining clear and effective communication throughout food and beverage areas, and ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness. The role emphasizes teamwork and efficiency as you assist the Banquet Captain and kitchen staff to deliver seamless event experiences. The position is ideal for individuals who possess a positive attitude, strong multitasking abilities, and a commitment to excellent guest service. Given the resort's scale and guest expectations, team members are expected to complete all required training and actively contribute to a supportive and professional environment.
This role requires flexibility, including working evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate event schedules. Candidates with 1-2 years of experience in high-volume food and beverage or catering environments are preferred. However, bartending experience is not mandatory, as training is available for the right individual. The position also requires knowledge of Vermont Health Codes and certification by the Department of Liquor Control (DLC), which can be obtained upon hire if needed. Organizational skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a professional appearance are essential.
Working at Stratton means being part of a forward-thinking resort that values its employees and strives to make every guest experience extraordinary. Team members benefit not only from engaging and rewarding work but also from the resort’s comprehensive benefits and commitment to their growth and well-being. Whether you are seeking seasonal employment with flexible scheduling or hoping to grow your career in hospitality, Stratton offers an inclusive and motivating work environment where you can thrive and enjoy the mountain lifestyle.
