Job Requirements

  • Education: college degree preferred
  • experience: three to four years in catering sales, event planning or conference services management
  • previous work in AAA Four Diamond or Four Star hotels highly desired
  • proficiency in English
  • knowledge of sales and marketing software including Salesforce or Delphi
  • understanding of conference technology and AV needs
  • strong communication and client relations skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Job Qualifications

  • College degree preferred, preferably with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • three to four years of previous catering sales manager, event planning, or conference services manager experience
  • experience in a comparable AAA Four Diamond/Four Star hotel or higher highly desired
  • general knowledge of conference technology and audio-visual needs
  • must be able to understand, speak, read, and write basic English
  • familiarity with sales and marketing tools
  • Salesforce/Delphi experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Contract catering business within assigned sales territory/market
  • respond to incoming leads within 24 hours or same day if possible
  • deploy departmental actions and catering strategies to meet team and company goals
  • prospect, solicit, and close new business as well as maintain repeat clients
  • work closely with group and catering sales to sell menus that meet client needs and maximize revenues
  • meet with clients to work out event details
  • detail small groups as assigned
  • escort clients through the property and highlight features and services
  • collaborate with Food & Beverage Director and Director of Event Management to establish policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • meet and greet clients on event dates, supervise as needed
  • entertain prospective clients and give tours
  • keep updated on sales trends and competition
  • represent the hotel in trade shows, industry organizations, and community events
  • attend all required hotel meetings
