We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Catering Sales Manager to join our dynamic Sales team. This pivotal role focuses on promoting and selling all types of social event catering, including weddings, birthday celebrations, cocktail hours, receptions, and a variety of other memorable gatherings. This position presents a fantastic opportunity for an individual passionate about sales and hospitality to help create unforgettable experiences for our guests, establishing themselves as the primary point of contact for event planning and service.

As a Catering Sales Manager, you will be responsible for representing the hotel’s outstanding services and facilities to potential clients, ensuring exceptional guest service and driving financial success for the hotel’s catering business. You will employ your skills in lead generation, prospecting, and relationship building to attract new catering clients, while maintaining and growing existing business relationships. Your creativity will be pivotal as you design and sell unique, tailored catering events that appeal to a diverse clientele.

Your role will also involve maximizing revenue opportunities by promoting upgraded packages and innovative food and beverage options, responding promptly to catering inquiries, and conducting site visits to showcase the hotel’s event spaces. You will be instrumental in forecasting catering revenues and will collaborate closely with other hotel departments, including the Event Manager, to ensure all event details are flawlessly executed.

Beyond the operational responsibilities, this role allows you to travel outside the hotel, enabling you to network, conduct sales presentations, and cultivate new business opportunities. You will also play a key role in negotiating contracts, determining pricing, and contributing to the development and implementation of marketing initiatives such as a dedicated wedding vanity site.

Job Duties

  • Target and solicit new catering business through lead generation, face-to-face prospecting, and relationship referrals
  • Design, develop, and sell creative catered events
  • Develop existing business to uncover additional revenue opportunities
  • Maximize revenue by upselling packages and creative food and beverage
  • Respond to incoming catering opportunities
  • Perform site visits, both scheduled and on-demand
  • Assist with forecasting all revenue catering revenue categories
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the vanity site for weddings
  • Handle customer compliments and complaints through distribution and resolution
  • Stay on top of industry trends making recommendations to the sales and catering teams
  • Work closely with the Event Manager to ensure all event details are communicated
  • Travel primarily outside the hotel to initiate new sales, solicit leads, hold conferences and make sales proposals and presentations
  • Determine rates and negotiate contracts
