The role of Catering Sales Manager at Embassy Suites by Hilton South Bend is an exciting opportunity tailored for a motivated sales professional passionate about helping guests create memorable social events. The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for selling and servicing all types of social gatherings such as weddings, birthday parties, receptions, cocktail hours, and more, ensuring a flawless and personalized experience for every client. This role encompasses targeting and soliciting new catering business through proactive lead generation, face-to-face prospecting, and referral networking. The Manager will also design, develop, and sell creative catered events while developing existing business to identify additional revenue opportunities. Managing the sales pipeline involves responding promptly to incoming catering inquiries, conducting scheduled and on-demand site visits, and collaborating closely with the Event Manager to ensure all event details are clearly communicated and executed flawlessly.

Additionally, this role requires participation in revenue forecasting, contract negotiations, and upselling innovative food and beverage packages. The Catering Sales Manager is expected to stay current on industry trends to provide valuable insights to the sales and catering teams and help maintain a competitive edge. This position involves travel primarily outside the hotel to initiate sales, solicit leads, hold conferences, and make compelling sales presentations. Job Duties

  • Target and solicit new catering business through lead generation, face-to-face prospecting, and relationship referrals
  • Design, develop, and sell creative catered events
  • Develop existing business to uncover additional revenue opportunities
  • Maximize revenue by upselling packages and creative food and beverage
  • Respond to incoming catering opportunities
  • Perform site visits, both scheduled and on-demand
  • Assist with the forecasting of all catering revenue categories
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the vanity site for weddings
  • Handle customer compliments and complaints through distribution and resolution
  • Stay on top of industry trends making recommendations to the sales and catering teams
  • Work closely with the Event Manager to ensure all event details are communicated
  • Travel primarily outside the hotel to initiate new sales, solicit leads, hold conferences and make sales proposals and presentations
  • Determine rates and negotiate contracts
