Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years in a hospitality sales role
- valid driver's license required
- preferred ServeSafe or TIPS certification or equivalent
- preferred first-aid CPR AED certification
- proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite
- ability to work days nights weekends and holidays as needed
- knowledge of Delphi Classic Delphi FDC Opera Sales and Catering or similar software preferred
- knowledge of Jonas Micros software or other business enterprise POS programs preferred
- ability to use room diagram software such as Meetings Matrix Allseated or Social Tables
- strong communication skills
- ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- willingness to participate in training and meetings regularly
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years in a hospitality sales role
- preferred knowledge of Delphi Classic Delphi FDC Opera Sales and Catering or similar software
- preferred knowledge of Jonas Micros software or other business enterprise or POS programs
- proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of MS Office Suite
- ability to design room layouts using software such as Meetings Matrix Allseated or Social Tables
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- ability to work collaboratively across departments
- customer service oriented with a passion for event planning
- knowledge of hospitality industry standards
Job Duties
- Understand all details pertaining to the events needs including identifying potential business solicitation and upselling menus room types and ancillary revenues whenever possible
- reply to inquiries leads for catered events and other assigned markets
- track all lead and call production in Delphi FDC ensuring weekly and monthly activity goals are met
- close business on the best opportunities based on market conditions and execute approved contracts within contract signing due dates
- finalize all details of catering and event functions within assigned market
- review and understand catering sales revenue and operation budgets and provide forecasting reports
- maintain client timeline for contracts BEOs payment schedules attendance counts ensuring accounting has deposits and payments in advance
- prepare and check all BEOs catering function sheets and ensure appropriate departments receive changes timely
- inspect function rooms prior to start for correct setup and supervise functions periodically
- greet directly booked clients upon arrival and serve as guest contact during events as needed
- conduct daily client tours and detail events as required including weekends
- ensure group billing is correct and approved before submission
- participate in weekly sales and operations meetings to communicate upcoming event needs
- establish relationships with area event vendors competitive and non-competitive hotels and venue managers
- design room layouts with provided diagram software
- interact effectively with sales kitchen vendors competitors and associations to ensure guest satisfaction
- deliver I Am Proud service standards and signature touch points
- establish cross-departmental communication channels
- attend tradeshows and networking events as approved to grow the assigned market
- maintain post-event files and ensure invoices receipts and closing inventories are recorded
- maintain complete files on all future and past events
- attend training as assigned
- practice and encourage safety and adhere to company policies
- participate timely in stand up and staff meetings
