The Catering Sales Manager role at City Barbeque is a pivotal position within the sales department, tasked with driving growth in the regional catering business and outside sales events. This hybrid remote position requires the candidate to reside within 30 minutes of one of the designated markets due to the role’s demands for in-person sales calls, networking, location visits, events, and client meet and greets. The compensation package is highly attractive, offering a base salary combined with uncapped commissions, potentially amounting to a total package in the range of 70-75k or more, depending on sales performance. Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for developing tailored sales strategies to increase catering sales for corporate and social events, along with managing wedding sales in the triad market and business-to-business sales.

Key responsibilities include creating and executing a targeted game plan to boost catering sales, engaging in direct sales and business development, dedicating significant effort to revenue-producing activities, and employing strategic methods such as cold calling, sales presentations, and effective closing techniques. The role involves close collaboration with local catering and management teams to stay informed on client trends, lead opportunities, and active participation in networking events to cultivate existing relationships and secure new business. The Catering Sales Manager manages client information and order processes via the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring accurate communication and follow-up to maintain high service standards and foster ongoing sales.

With a focus on self-development, the candidate will cultivate a deep understanding of City Barbeque's products and services, ensuring expertise to effectively sell and support offerings. Operationally, the role requires managing the catering order process from initiation to execution, addressing special requests while maintaining professionalism, integrity, and a customer-service oriented approach. Job Duties

  • Create a targeted game plan for increasing regional catering sales with corporate and social events within a designated territory
  • Initiate direct sales and business development
  • Focus on revenue-producing activity and maximize selling time by 80 percent dedicated work time on direct sales efforts and local marketing
  • Employ strategic planning, cold calling, sales presentations and effective closing sales techniques
  • Work closely with local catering and management teams to stay abreast of clients, trends, and lead opportunities
  • Maintain active involvement in networking events
  • Cultivate relationships with existing clients through follow-up visits and presence at key events
