The Catering Sales Manager position at City Barbeque is a critical role designed to develop and coordinate regional catering and outside sales events. This hybrid remote role requires the candidate to work from home with flexibility for attending sales calls, events, networking opportunities, location visits, and client meetings within a close proximity of the designated market. The manager will focus on growing catering sales, which includes handling wedding sales for the triad market and business-to-business (B2B) sales. This position reports directly to the Regional Sales Director and offers an attractive compensation package with a competitive base salary ranging from 70,000 to 75,000 USD, plus an uncapped commission of 3.5% on all new business generated.

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for creating targeted sales strategies to increase catering revenue within their assigned territory. This involves significant time dedicated to revenue-producing activities, such as cold calling, direct sales efforts, and conducting sales presentations. The role places a strong emphasis on strategic planning, relationship building, and effective use of sales techniques to close deals and exceed quarterly sales goals. The manager will also be instrumental in networking and maintaining a visible presence at local events to cultivate lasting relationships with clients both new and existing.

In addition to sales, this role includes managing client information and order details through the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure excellent communication and service levels. Collaborating with catering operations teams, the manager must ensure that all catering orders are clearly conveyed and executed flawlessly, including handling specialty requests with professionalism and care. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional organizational, communication, and presentation skills, and be adept at problem-solving in a fast-paced, competitive market environment. Job Duties

  • Create a targeted game plan for increasing regional catering sales with corporate and social events within a designated territory
  • initiate direct sales and business development
  • focus on revenue-producing activity and maximize selling time by 80 percent dedicated work time on direct sales efforts and local marketing
  • employ strategic planning, cold calling, sales presentations/meetings, and effective closing sales techniques
  • work closely with local catering and management teams to stay abreast of clients, trends, and lead opportunities
  • maintain active involvement in networking events
  • cultivate relationships with existing clients through follow-up visits and presence at key events
  • meet established sales goals per quarter
  • manage and communicate client info and ordering process through the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • create and utilize an ongoing prospect list to ensure incremental growth
  • manage existing accounts to ensure ongoing support and repeat catering sales
  • promptly follow up on all customer calls and requests efficiently and expediently
  • cultivate a strong understanding of the company’s products and services
  • manage the catering order process from customer to Catering Operations Manager to the Catering Joint
  • ensure order details are clearly communicated to operations producing and managing the event
  • tend to specialty requests and orders
  • project the highest level of integrity and professionalism
  • maintain a service-focused approach, and a caring and sincere attitude at all times
  • maintain daily, well-documented information in CRM, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues
