Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years catering or hospitality sales experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and catering management software
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Customer-focused with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Valid driver’s license is preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated negotiation and closing skills
  • Knowledge of food and beverage industry trends
  • Availability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 hotel environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of hotel catering or similar industry experience
  • Proven ability to consistently provide quality service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of hotel and brand policies and procedures
  • Proven record of successful sales and client relationship management
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and close sales effectively
  • Leadership experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Delphi or similar systems
  • Understanding of food and beverage menu planning and trends
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Job Duties

  • Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business while maximizing banquet space to meet revenue goals
  • Execute a territorial marketing strategy to capture maximum revenue and meet sales goals
  • Plan, upsell, and detail meetings and functions including space, equipment, menus, and decorations
  • Complete contracts and coordinate logistics with hotel departments
  • Prepare status and period end reports to keep management informed
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel procedures, products, and competition to improve sales strategies
  • Respond to incoming catering opportunities and proactively identify new business
  • Use negotiating skills to close contracts and manage relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Conduct site inspections, create proposals, and ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Utilize sales resources and support staff effectively
  • Participate in professional and community organizations
  • Assist with special projects and meetings
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints to maintain high service standards
  • Lead team efforts and manage work execution
  • Pursue continuous learning and professional development
  • Demonstrate operational knowledge of food and beverage planning
  • Understand and apply sales and revenue management strategies
  • Maintain proficiency in relevant software and systems
  • Uphold brand policies and hospitality standards.
