Job Description
We are partnering with a fast-growing, fine dining restaurant group known for its elevated guest experience and design-forward spaces. This innovative restaurant group has established a strong presence across multiple markets, including Florida and Kentucky, and is looking to expand its private events business. The Director of Catering & Events role is a unique and exciting opportunity to lead and scale the private events business across three expanding markets. This position is a pure sales role, focusing entirely on driving revenue, building relationships, and securing high-value events. Unlike typical roles that combine sales and operational tasks, this role has the benefit of having a dedicated operations team that handles event execution, allowing the Director to concentrate fully on business development and client acquisition.
As the Director of Catering & Events, you will own and grow a multi-market revenue stream, contributing significantly to the overall success of the restaurant group. Your efforts will focus on increasing catering and private events revenue across all locations, including Florida and Kentucky markets. You will proactively source, develop, and close new business opportunities through strategic outbound sales efforts, establishing a strong network among wedding planners, corporate clients, and social event organizers.
In this role, you will manage the entire sales cycle—from prospecting to contract execution—while developing strategic partnerships with event planners, luxury vendors, and key community influencers. Collaborating with internal teams will be essential to ensure seamless communication and alignment on client expectations, ultimately delivering a superior event experience.
You will also be responsible for creating and refining pricing strategies, packages, and sales collateral to remain competitive and appealing to various client segments. Tracking pipeline activity, forecasting revenue, and identifying growth opportunities will be key components of your role to drive continuous business expansion. This position offers a high level of autonomy, visibility, and impact within an established, supportive organizational structure. Job Requirements
- 5+ years experience in catering, event, or private dining sales
- demonstrated success generating new business through outbound sales
- existing network in weddings, corporate events, or social events
- experience selling high-value events
- background in restaurant, lifestyle hospitality, or boutique hotel sectors
- entrepreneurial approach to business growth
- effective communication and relationship-building skills
Job Qualifications
- 5+ years in catering sales, event sales, or private dining sales
- proven track record of generating new business through outbound efforts
- strong existing book of business or Rolodex in weddings, corporate events, or social events
- experience selling high-end events ($20K-$100K+)
