The Catering Sales Coordinator role at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington, offers an excellent career opportunity for individuals with experience in catering and event planning and execution. This full-time, onsite position focuses on supporting the catering team, including the Catering Sales Manager and Event Specialist, to ensure smooth and successful event delivery. The coordinator acts as a critical member of the operations team, collaborating closely with the Director of Catering, sales, General Manager, Event Manager, and Captains. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate and detailed event information in the CaterXpert system before deadlines, assisting in event setup and execution, and ensuring coordination around event rentals and logistics.

This role requires strong communication with sales, culinary, and booking teams to grasp menu details and client requirements fully. It also involves managing payment collections, deposits, and accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions related to contracted events. Maintaining an organized calendar of events using Outlook and participating in event-related meetings and conference calls are also important parts of the job.
