The role of Catering and Events Coordinator within the Sales Department offers a hybrid work opportunity designed for professionals passionate about coordinating memorable events and providing exceptional service. This position focuses on the efficient operation of the catering and events section, assisting with the planning, negotiation, and execution of catering sales efforts and event coordination to ensure a seamless client experience from start to finish. Responsible for soliciting catering business, developing action plans, responding to customer inquiries, and managing client menus and contracts, the coordinator works closely with multiple departments to guarantee successful event delivery.
This role additionally involves conducting client meetings, both in person and virtually, organizing detailed event requirements, and coordinating logistics such as room setup alongside banquet staff. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in catering sales or event coordination preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays

- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- basic computer proficiency

Job Duties
- Travel to meet with or call individual clients to solicit catering business
- develop target lists and action plans for account solicitation
- assist in assignment and distribution of leads
- answer customer inquiries, prospect and qualify potential leads
- develop client menus, write contracts and letters, and organize event arrangements
- gather, organize and disseminate event requirements to appropriate departments
- perform administrative duties relevant to account responsibilities
- coordinate activities of various departments to service accounts
- establish rapport with meeting planners and promote hotel facilities
- conduct walking site inspections throughout the property
- plan and conduct pre and post-convention meetings with clients and departments
- document tracking of group activity
- access and input data into computer systems
- assist banquet staff in room set up as necessary
- perform other related duties as assigned
