The role of Catering Manager 2 at North Carolina A&T State University is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering operations. This position requires managing a spectrum of events, including conferences, receptions, academic functions, and student activities, ensuring each event runs smoothly and exceeds expectations. As Catering Manager 2, you will coordinate catering bookings, schedules, and logistics, including transportation, supply ordering, and rental equipment management, ensuring that all event specifications are meticulously followed.

Leadership is at the heart of this role, where you will mentor frontline teams in operational excellence, from cash handling and opening/closing processes to ensuring compliance with health and safety standards through HACCP and Sodexo’s operational programs. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum 1 year management experience
  • must have a valid driver's license

Job Duties

  • coordinate and manage catering services for a variety of events including conferences, receptions, academic functions, and student activities
  • oversee catering bookings, schedules, and timelines
  • ensure the seamless delivery of services in alignment with event specifications
  • oversee logistical planning including transportation, supply ordering, and coordination of rental equipment and setup
  • lead frontline teams, mentoring them in accurate cash handling, operations, open and closing processes
  • train and manage department HACCP Safety Programs, Sodexo programs and daily operation standards
